There are four stages in the commissioning process:

Stage 1

We will discuss your requirements and I will need several photographs of your subject to work from. The photographs will have a great influence on the finished painting and full details of the process will be given during this consultation period.

Stage 2

There are a range of canvas sizes. The final price of the commission depends on the size, the chosen medium, materials and the length of time each painting takes. Watercolours will be provided with a free mount.  Picture framing is available at an additional cost if required. Price list can be found here.

When you are happy with your size and choice of medium I will forward you a Commissioning Booking Form. When you complete and return this form with a 20% deposit we will have entered into a contract for work to be undertaken.

Things to consider:

  • The photograph you provide will greatly influence the final painting.
  • The size you require.
  • The type of background you want.
  • What media you want your picture painting in.

I am here to assist you at every stage of the commissioning process, please do not hesitate to contact me for advice.

Stage 3

You will be provided with an expected completion date. I can email you photos of the painting in progress for you to check if wished. When the picture is complete you will be emailed a photograph of the finished commission. This is your opportunity to review the picture to ensure you are completely satisfied.

Stage 4

Once you have confirmed acceptance of the commission, the final payment of the outstanding balance will be payable and your painting will be packaged securely and dispatched to you. For large canvases there may be an additional postage charge.
